How you get paid
A customer books you
They pay the full amount on RentEvent when they book, so the money is committed before your event date.
RentEvent holds the funds
Your share is held until shortly after the event. That way a cancellation is sorted out between us and the customer, without money being pulled back out of your account.
Your share lands in your bank
It moves automatically. No invoice to send, nothing to chase, nothing for you to do.
What you keep
| On a $250 booking | Amount |
|---|---|
| Your price | $250.00 |
| RentEvent service fee | paid by the customer |
| Card processing | paid by the customer |
| You receive | $250.00 |
You set your price and you receive it in full. RentEvent's fee and the card processing fee are added on top and paid by the customer, so your number is the number you get. The one exception is a refund, where the card processing fee is not returned by the card networks and comes out of your share.
What you will need
- Your legal name and date of birth, or your business details if you are set up as a company
- The last four digits of your Social Security number, for identity verification
- A bank account for deposits
- About five minutes
You enter all of this on Stripe's own pages, not on RentEvent. RentEvent never sees or stores your bank details, your Social Security number, or your date of birth. Stripe is the same company that handles payments for Amazon, Shopify, and Lyft.
